Former US President Donald Trump has delivered a stern ultimatum to Hamas, demanding the immediate release of all hostages and the return of the bodies of those killed by the group. Trump warned that the US is providing Israel with the necessary resources to eliminate Hamas, ensuring that no member will be safe if they fail to comply. He called on Hamas leadership to leave Gaza while they still have the opportunity.
In a post on X, Trump wrote, “‘Shalom Hamas’ means Hello and Goodbye – You can choose. Release all of the hostages now, not later, and immediately return all of the dead bodies of the people you murdered, or it is OVER for you. Only sick and twisted people keep bodies, and you are sick and twisted! I am sending Israel everything it needs to finish the job, not a single Hamas member will be safe if you don’t do as I say.”
Trump’s message was directed not only at Hamas but also at the people of Gaza, urging them to release the hostages for the sake of their future. He warned, “If you do, you are DEAD! Make a SMART decision. RELEASE THE HOSTAGES NOW, OR THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY LATER!”
In a related statement, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed that Trump had met with eight hostages recently released from Gaza, listening to their emotional accounts. The former hostages thanked Trump for his unwavering efforts to bring them home.
Further reports indicated that US officials have been in direct talks with Hamas regarding the release of hostages and bodies, with a recent meeting in Qatar focused on securing the release of the only remaining Israeli-American hostage, Edan Alexander, as well as the bodies of four other Israeli Americans.
While the US continues its efforts, Israel has communicated its position on direct negotiations with Hamas, though details remain confidential.
